Scriptures Alone! Grace Alone! Christ Alone!

In order to get to Heaven we must be as good as God, perfect in all things, perfect in heart, perfect in thought, perfect in works, perfectly holy. But no person is perfect. We are all sinful. We are all corrupt. Is there no hope for us? Must we all perish in our sins in an eternal Hell? NO! Blessed be the Lord our God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, He has made a way to make fallen, sinful, depraved sinners perfect, perfectly holy, and perfectly accepted. Every person who is in Christ is perfect in Him and will be presented to the Father in that last day, "Holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight." This is the final result of Christ’s redeeming work. It is not the result of anything in us, or anything done by us. ...

When we look upon ourselves, we often see ourselves—the most stupid—the most ignorant—the most vile—the most unworthy—the most earthly and sensual wretches that God can permit to live! At least, that is the view we take of ourselves when we are really humbled in our own eyes. But when God looks upon His elect, He does not look upon them as they often look upon themselves—but as they stand in Christ—accepted in the beloved—without spot or wrinkle, or any such thing! He does not see His people as they often see themselves—full of wounds, and bruises and putrefying sores; but clothed in the perfection, beauty, and loveliness of their Head and Husband.

I have often been asked over the years concerning Arminians, “”Do they know God” or “Can they be saved?” My answer has usually been something like this: “There is only one gospel and sinners must believe that gospel to be saved. And I would leave it at that.

At this stage in my life I will make this statement, with much sadness but without reluctance: Those poor souls who preach and/or believe in the Arminian gospel believe in a false god who could not save them, even if they decided to “let him.” Anytime you hear a preacher say that God is trying to do something, won’t you let him, dear soul you are listening to a false prophet preach his false god! I urge you to find another church, another preacher, and READ YOUR BIBLE! The time is short....

That God is able, in His mercy, grace, and wisdom, to make a way for our sins to be laid on a Substitute and the guilty sinner to go free is the greatest glory of His nature that He has seen fit to reveal.

And delivered just Lot, vexed with filthy

conversation of the wicked. (II Peter 2:7)

Considering the life of Lot, “A righteous man” seems an inappropriate title to pin on him. Fleshly, money-hungry, compromising, drunk, and incestuous all seem fitting, but not, “righteous”. Yet, “righteous” is exactly the adjective the Holy Spirit inspired Peter to use in order to describe Lot. What are we to make of this? It is obvious from Lot’s story that the righteousness by which a child of God is justified comes from some source other than himself. If Lot is righteous, then his righteousness was not of his own making; it came from somewhere else. This is true of everyone the Scriptures justify, from faithful Abraham to despicable Lot. Jesus Christ...

The law cannot save. It cannot give life. It cannot justify. It cannot make a sinner righteous. It cannot sanctify. It cannot bless. The law of God is holy, and just, and good; but it can never produce good in us or for us. The law is a ministration of death. It exposes sin, declares guilt, curses and condemns the guilty, and ministers death. It genders bondage, but never liberty. It condemns, but never blesses.

If we are to be saved, justified, made righteous before God, and blessed by him, we must look elsewhere. The broken law makes us lost sinners. And what the law once does, it cannot undo. It destroys, but cannot build. It imprisons, but cannot deliver from prison. The law kills, but cannot make alive. Sinai has the thunder and the te...

Mr. Spurgeon once said, “I know that however many may preach the Gospel better than I do, there is no one who can preach a better Gospel than I preach; for I preach the Gospel of God’s free and sovereign grace in Christ Jesus.” Our Gospel is “the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth.” Our Gospel gives all the glory to God, for “Salvation is of the Lord.” Our Gospel is true to the Scriptures, fulfilling every promise, pattern and type. Our Gospel enables God to be just and the Justifier of sinners. Our Gospel can save the “chief of sinners”, and our Gospel will not lose one sheep given to Christ, called to Christ resting in Christ by faith. What a rich glorious Gospel is our Gospel!

Some insist upon it that men are redeemed not because Christ died, but because they are willing to give efficacy to the blood of Christ. He died for everybody according to their theory. Why, then, are not all men saved? Because all men will not believe? That is to say that believing is necessary in order to make the blood of Christ efficacious for redemption. Now we hold that to be a great lie. We believe the very contrary, namely, that the blood of Christ has in itself the power to redeem and that it does redeem and that faith does not give efficacy to the blood, but is only the proof that the blood has redeemed that man. Hence we hold that Christ did not redeem every man, but only redeemed those men who will ultimately attain unto eterna...
